Hospitality
Welcoming guests to the monastery takes many forms. In addition to
the courses and days of recollection that we run throughout the
year, we are happy to be able to host small groups of up to fifteen
persons for day conferences. Facilities are somewhat basic, but the
setting is superb. Shared meals have always been a feature of
Benedictine hospitality and are truly sacramentals. Not all are
quite as festive as the one shown below!

The Library
Thanks to the generosity of friends and benefactors, our library is
growing and is increasingly used as a resource by visitors. With
the help of Michael Black, a proper cataloguing system is being
devised which will enable us to list books online for use by the
wider public. We have been pleased to learn that we hold a number
of theological and historical works difficult to obtain elsewhere
and have been able to make a modest contribution to the work of
students and scholars in Oxford.
Resident Accommodation for Guests
As of Easter 2009, we have one guest room available for women or
girls wishing to make a private retreat or spend some quiet time at
the monastery. We are limiting stays initially to three nights at a
time in order to ensure that the atmosphere of peace and
recollection is maintained. Unfortunately, the room is not suitable
for anyone with disabilities (as we rent the monastery building, we
are unable to make any structural alterations).

How to get here
By car, East Hendred is just off the A417 between Wantage and Rowstock, about thirteen miles from Oxford. By train to Didcot Parkway, then by 'bus or taxi to East Hendred. The monastery is situated in the older part of the village, directly opposite the Catholic church.
The village has two B & Bs, three
pubs and a shop; there is an hourly 'bus service to Oxford and
neighbouring towns, and the Ridgeway is nearby for those who enjoy
walking.
